Aoyoshi Co., Ltd., a 60-year-old manufacturer of mainly kitchen ware and cutting tools, is based in Tsubame city in Niigata prefecture, a major metal processing town in Japan. In recent years, Aoyoshi has released the VINTAGE series utilizing their polishing and processing skills, on which they pride themselves, to create denim-like fading effects on kitchen utensils and containers — arguably the sole company practicing this craft. On the catalog for this vintage series, you can find standard items such as cups, plates and cutlery, as well as cooking tools including stir-frying pans and pots, and even filter cups for making coffee and hand coffee grinders.
