Honeybee Wrap

Reusable storage wrap.

When it comes to mild and tasty beeswax, apart from turning it over in your mouth for gastronomic pleasure, has it ever occurred to you that it can also be used for keeping food fresh and extending its storage life? The idea is using tastiness to envelop tastiness.

The wisdom of beeswax cotton wrap can be traced back to ancestors in North America. It is an age-old food storage method used by North American families. Thanks to a growing interest in environmental protection in recent years, this practice is once again attracting interest and attention. It is also very simple to make beeswax wrap by yourself.

When it comes to mild and tasty beeswax, apart from turning it over in your mouth for gastronomic pleasure, has it ever occurred to you that it can also be used for keeping food fresh and extending its storage life? The idea is using tastiness to envelop tastiness.

To make the wrap, you need to first prepare a piece of cotton fabric and an appropriate amount of beeswax. After grating the beeswax, heat until it is half melted, and spread it evenly on the cotton fabric; once cooled, it is ready for use. First, place the beeswax cotton wrap on top of the tableware; next, use the warmth of your hands to soften it and mould it to the tableware by applying pressure, and finish off by sliding the tableware into the fridge. You can count on it as long as it is not used for wrapping meat. In addition, the attached beeswax will start coming off after being repeatedly folded and used. However, be rest assured that it can be reused for a few more times by applying a new layer of beeswax on it.

Shown above is the beeswax wrap that caught my interest recently, a product by an Australian brand called Honeybee Wrap. I am just too lazy to make one myself, and I noticed that the materials and ingredients used for making Honeybee Wrap is similar to the natural homemade version. The only difference is that Honeybee Wrap makes use of natural organic cotton fabric, as well as other ingredients such as jojoba oil, coconut oil and tree resin. Adding to its appeal are the colorful and lovely patterns, and without giving it a thought, I made a purchase right away. Compared to those thin and creasy single-use food wraps, beeswax wraps are bound to give you more peace of mind, regardless of whether you are making them yourself, or buying ready-made ones.
