日本秋天最受歡迎的景點之一茨城日立海濱公園，園內的3萬多棵圓滾滾、紅卜卜的掃帚草 (コキア)佈滿了整個山頭。猶如火紅地氈的人工美景得來不易，350人的團隊由6月開始種植，把掌心般大小的綠毛球以相距70厘米、整齊排列地栽種，經歷兩個月才由綠色轉為紅色。這麼精確的計算是為了那瞬間的季節風物詩。

Hitachi Seaside Park is one of Japan’s most popular tourist spots in autumn. More than 30,000 red and round balls of burning bush carpet the whole hillside in the park. Such a beautiful artificial scenery, which looks like a fiery red carpet, does not come easily. Every June, a team of 350 members start planting green balls the size of a palm in orderly columns and rows, 70cm apart from one another, which will turn from green to red in color within two months. Such precise calculations are done in preparation for the fleeting poetic episode of the season.
